A team of researchers has explained what effect air pollution has on heart disease patients. Researchers from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health have found a link between higher levels of a specific kind of air pollution in major urban
areas and an increase in cardiovascular-related hospitalizations such as for heart attacks in people 65 and older.

 The population of tigers has increased over the years in the Mysuru-Chamrajnagar region bringing cheer to nature lovers.  But villages in the fringes of forests live with its negative effects, something demonstrated by the loss of 15
humans lives in recent times attributed to big cats. The two districts boast of three tiger reserves — Nagarhole, Bandipur and BRT — and MM Hills reserve forest with about 300 tigers

The Chinna Eri in Thuraiyur has turned out to be a dumping yard for garbage and leftovers by traders particularly hotel owners, resulting in pollution of water and silting up of the area disrupting agricultural operations.
