The only missing cenotaph is Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh, whose burial took place at Jaipur's city palace complex.

02 Sisodia Rani Garden and Palace

 

The Maharaja of Jaipur had special affection towards his second wife, the Princess of Udaipur and built a special garden as a retreat for his beloved queen. The princess belonged to the Sisodia Rajput clan of Udaipur who are believed to be descendants of the Surya Dynasty and hence, called Suryavanshis.

The Maharaja built the garden in 1728 and gifted it to his beloved wife for her to get away from the humdrums of the royal court politics and intrigues.

This is one of the places near Jaipur within 100 km that arguably experiences the highest tourist footfalls.

It was created by the King of Chanda Baori in the ninth century and is among the best-kept picnic sites within a 100-km radius of Jaipur.

The name "Bawri," which means "stepwell," is an original invention of the architects. The steps down to the water in the well are 3500 in number and are clearly drawn. A 20-meter descent leads to the well, which attracts visitors from all around the world.
