The Do Dham Yatra is one of the most famous pilgrimages in India. This well-revered yatra includes the two major holy shrines, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Thousands of pilgrims visit here throughout the year to seek the divine grace of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. It is believed that this sacred yatra cleanses sins and purifies souls.

The Do Dham Yatra is not just a sacred site, but also offers the most stunning views of the Himalayan ranges in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Let's explore more about the Do Dham Yatra Package 2026.

About Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath Temple is an integral part of the Do Dham and Char Dham Yatra. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is also considered one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and a part of the Panch Kedar Temples.

It is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet). There is a 16 km moderately challenging trek to reach the temple from Gaurikund, the base camp.

About Badrinath Temple

Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 feet). The temple offers scenic views of the Nar Narayan ranges.

Some pilgrims choose to visit here first because it does not require any trek; it is directly accessible through a long road journey via Joshimath.

Best Time To Visit Kedarnath And Badrinath

The best time to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath is from May to June in summer and from September to October in autumn.

Summer Season

It offers pleasant weather, clear skies, scenic views, and an ideal time for trekking and sightseeing. It is considered the peak season for the yatra, so the crowd levels stay high.

Note: It is recommended to book amenities in advance during peak season.

Autumn Season

Post-monsoon time offers peaceful surroundings perfect for peace seekers with clear roads, fewer crowds, and cool weather with panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Kedarnath & Badrinath: Which Visit First

Traditionally, Kedarnath is visited first, and then proceeds to Badrinath, as it is believed that seeking Lord Shiva’s blessing before Lord Vishnu purifies the soul and cleanses the ego before the divine grace of Lord Vishnu.

But as Kedarnath needs more physical effort, and Badrinath is easily accessible by road, many pilgrims choose to visit Badrinath first. However, it totally depends on your preference, weather, and comfort.

Conclusion

The Do Dham Yatra is a divine way to seek peace and liberation. Both Kedarnath and Badrinath hold deep spiritual significance and belief among devotees visiting here.

To reach here without any hassle, you can also book the Kedarnath Badrinath package to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage experience with services, including registration, hotel bookings, transportation management, meals, and more.
