This is something every group should read before planning a Delhi to Manali Tempo Traveller trip that includes Rohtang Pass.

Our mistake? Nobody checked the permit situation properly.

What went wrong step by step:

• We booked a standard tempo traveller Delhi Manali package  operator never mentioned Rohtang restrictions

• Diesel vehicles face strict restrictions on Rohtang: our Tempo Traveller was diesel

• Got stopped at the check post, no entry permitted

• Wasted 3 hours arranging local shared cabs at inflated prices

What you must confirm before booking:

• Ask specifically — is this vehicle Rohtang-permitted?

• Check NGT guidelines for the current season rules change yearly

• Rohtang permits must be booked online 1-2 days in advance

• Consider reaching Manali first, then hiring local vehicles for Rohtang separately

The Delhi to Manali Tempo Traveller package handles the highway beautifully  but Rohtang is a completely different game. Plan it separately and save yourself the headache.
