Forum > General > Premium Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in Goa? My Experience

Posted by Resort Rio on May 18, 2026

Finding a good pure vegetarian restaurant in Goa isn’t always easy, especially if you’re looking for a fine-dining experience instead of regular café-style food. During my recent visit to North Goa, I came across Aur Jalsa inside Resort Rio, and honestly, it was quite different from the usual Goa dining scene.

The restaurant focuses on authentic Gujarati, Rajasthani, and Jain cuisine with a traditional thali experience. What stood out to me was the attention to detail — separate vegetarian kitchen setup, traditional low seating arrangement, and a royal-style ambiance that actually feels authentic instead of overly commercial.

Their thali menu changes daily, which keeps the experience interesting. I tried a combination of Gujarati dal, kadhi, paneer dishes, fresh rotlas, sweets, and traditional accompaniments. The flavors felt genuinely homestyle but presented in a premium way.

A few things I personally liked:

  • Calm family-friendly atmosphere
  • Great option for Jain and pure vegetarian guests
  • Traditional Indian dining experience with modern comfort
  • Good service and presentation
  • Convenient location near Baga Beach in North Goa

I also noticed that many people online specifically recommend Aur Jalsa when discussing vegetarian thalis in Goa. One Reddit user even called it “one of the best vegetarian thali places” in North Goa.

If anyone is searching for a luxury vegetarian dining experience in Goa instead of the usual beach shacks and cafés, this place is definitely worth considering.
