Forum > Travel > Is Goa Worth Visiting During the Monsoon? My Honest Take

A lot of people skip Goa during the rainy season because they assume everything shuts down. After looking into it and talking to people who've visited, I think the monsoon offers a completely different side of Goa that's actually worth experiencing.

Instead of crowded beaches and peak-season traffic, you get lush green landscapes, misty roads, overflowing waterfalls, and a much more peaceful atmosphere. Monsoon travel to Goa has also been gaining popularity, with a noticeable rise in people choosing short "micro-cations" during the rainy season.

A few things I found interesting:

  • Waterfalls like Dudhsagar look their best during the rains.

  • Scenic drives through the Western Ghats become much more beautiful.

  • Hotels and resorts often have better availability than in peak season.

  • Beaches are still great for walks and sightseeing, although swimming and water sports are generally restricted because of rough seas.

Of course, it isn't the right season if your main goal is parasailing or jet skiing. But if you're looking for a relaxing getaway with good food, spa experiences, and cozy indoor amenities, monsoon can be surprisingly rewarding.

I found this guide helpful because it covers both the pros and the limitations instead of making it sound perfect: Is Goa Worth Visiting During the Monsoon? A Complete Guide

Has anyone here visited Goa between June and September? I'd love to know whether you preferred it over the busy winter season.
