Forum > Travel > What Is the Best Route for a Chardham Yatra from Delhi?

Posted by Ajay Sengar on August 19, 2026

The Chardham Yatra from Delhi covers four sacred temples: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. A popular route is Delhi → Haridwar → Barkot → Yamunotri → Uttarkashi → Gangotri → Guptkashi/Sonprayag → Kedarnath → Badrinath → Rishikesh → Delhi

The journey usually takes 10–12 days or more, depending on road conditions, weather, and darshan time. Since the route includes long mountain drives, comfortable transportation is important.

For families and groups, a tempo traveller on rent in Delhi is convenient because everyone can travel together in one vehicle, with comfortable seating, enough luggage space, and fewer stops for changing transport. It also makes it easier to manage the long journey, especially when travelling with senior citizens or children.
