Kedarnath temple is one of the 12 jyotirlingas and is the most prominent temple among the Panch Kedar that is a group of five Shiva temples in Garhwal Himalayas. The temple can be accessed from major destinations of Uttarakhand state. The motorable road stretches till Gaurikund only after that one needs to indulge in a good 14kms trek that leads to the sacred Kedarnath temple. One can even avail helicopter service or ponies or palanquins during the peak season of the yatra. It is indeed one of the most religious Dhams in India.

During the winter season, the portals of the Kedarnath temple are closed on the first day of Karthik that is October/November and the deity is brought down to Ukhimat village. The temple is opened again after six months in the Vaisakh that is April/May period of Hindu calendar and the deity is brought back to the Kedarnath temple with rituals. Kedarnath Package
