Happy Mothers Day!!.....Er....Parents Day!!!!says IndianWildlifeClub
Outside our home, near the main gate, we spot a nest. On the Ashoka tree. The Indian White Eye (Zosterops palpebrosus) is sitting with its wings spread on the nest. Surely there are chicks inside. Birding ethics prevents me from going near the nest.
Temperature outside is 42 degrees centigrade.
The bird is sitting with its wings spread to protect the chicks from heat. Parents share duties of cleaning the nest, feeding the chicks and protecting the chicks from heat.
The Indian White Eye is a tiny bird, 8cm in size. Sexes look similar.
Happy Mothers Day!! er Parents Day!!!!!
