The Noida authority has decided to issue notices to five realtors who were found violating National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders on air pollution around their construction sites.

Maharashtra's long-pending demand that wild boar and nilgai (blue bull) be declared as vermin has finally been cleared by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The vermin tag allows hunting of wild animals in specific areas
without seeking any permission.

During a meeting on Wednesday, where various pending issues concerning Maharashtra were discussed, Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar consented to the state's proposal of declaring the two species vermin. Chief ministerDevendraFadnavis and forest
minister SudhirMungantiwar were present at the meeting.

On the fourth day of the road rationing scheme, there was no relief for Delhiites in terms of air quality which touched ‘very poor’ level on Tuesday.

As per the website of System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the average values of Particulate Matter (PM) 2.5 and PM 10 were recorded at 124.6 and 275.1 micrograms per cubic metre, respectively.

NEW DELHI: Air inside our homes may be as polluted as outside and there is need to monitor its quality to take remedial measures, says a new study.

Cooking residues, chemicals and various microbes and fungal spores are usually found existing in homes and may cause chronic health problems, the study said.
