History of Ancient Textile Printing Form

Posted by Hitesh Sharma on April 22, 2020

Forum Post

Textile Industry in India is one of the major contributors to the pre-independence GDP of the country. As we were the part of Golden Silk Route – the items produced here were exported to many Asian and European landmasses. The famous Pashmina textile of Kashmir, Banarasi Silk Cloths and Printed Cotton Fabric of Rajputana were key merchandise of that era.

  • In Rajasthan, the art was supported by the Royal Family of Jaipur. Here, in Sanganer Town, you can still found 100s of families from Chippa and Rangreez Community that work in these professions from generations. They were settled here on orders of the Kings and throughout history, they were actively producing goods that helped our state to collect revenues and taxes from the export and trade.

Also, on may historical texts, evidence could be found of Rulers gifting dresses made using the Block Print Cotton and Silk Fabrics to other states. So it can be easily deduced that this art was considered “Noble”. On the other hand, just because of this, not all caste were allowed to wear the same products. We found extensive texts that suggest that people belonging to Upper Caste were only granted use of Block Printed Textile products. So, that could be the reason for most labours and farmers were dressed in White Cloths.

Also, many of these texts suggest that some of the castes have specified designs of Buti Designs that they were allowed to wear. Mostly to classify once caste.

Asiatic Lion

Asiatic Lion The Only Of Its Kind

Posted by Uday on April 17, 2020

Forum Post

Once widespread in the Indian subcontinent and elsewhere this majestic predator is now confined to a remote corner of Gujarat State of India.

Yes Asiatic or Indian Lion is now found only in Gir National Park in India where about five hundred plus survive. It has been a commendable conservation effort since only twenty of these majestic predators where left alive after centuries of persecution by the hunters and land grabbers. By latter I mean takeover of land by human settlers as population in India began to grow rapidly. It is still growing and creating biotic pressure at Gir. Nevertheless this tenacious population has managed to survive against all the odds.

The lions have spread over and area of twenty two thousand square kilometers in the neighborhood right down to Gujarat Sea near Junagadh.

The terrain at Gir is bush, thorn, dry deciduous forests and grassland and in this complex ecosystem the big cats have survived marvelously. The preference for relatively open habitat keeps it from coming into conflict with the tiger albeit there no more tigers in Gujarat.

The Gir lion is related to the African cousin but has different morphology and hunting style. These hunters use part ambush and part chase to bring down their prey. They succeed in this methodology because of enough ground to hide in Gir ecosystem.

Gir is not only the home of these predators it is an excellent birding destination as well. It is home to more than three hundred avian species including the winter migrants.

Other animals seen here are the leopard, sloth bear, Nilgai, spotted deer, chousingha, barking deer, chinkara, black buck, hyena, fox, desert cat, jungle cat and many species of reptiles as well.

Tourism is conducted at Gir National Park in an organised manner. The Gujarat Government organises excursions at the National Park in the State. One needs permit for lion safari at Gir National Park in Gujarat. This permit is available from the Government National Park website online.

The National Park is accessible from Jungadh and Velavar rail head. These are well connected to Rajkot City and Ahmedabad the Capital of the State.

Best season is from December to March before the hot summer arrives.

The Biggest Environmental Threat

One of the biggest environmental issues the world is facing right now after water pollution is Air pollution.  The biggest threat to our environmental air is the smoke and fumes that come from Vehicle engines, and industries. These things take a lot of time to recover but we ourselves are damaging our environment from the last few decades.  According to,  an academic firm that gives Cheap law Homework writing services, there are substantial metals, plastic and poisons in the air which are continuously damaging the Ozone layer in the space. Due to this pandemic lockdown in many countries, the O3 layer is healing, which is a good sign for us, because it protects us from the toxic radioactive rays coming from the Sun.

How one can spend huge time with a single Backpack in Rajasthan

Posted by primeadventure on April 14, 2020

Forum Post

Having a backpack on your back has many misconceptions around it, especially when you are traveling for a long time. People may express shock to you when you tell them that you will be having only one backpack for an entire year, including winters! Nonetheless, it is only you who knows and understands that it is practically possible to live like that with minimum things possible. It just comes down to being creative and picking up the right things to live the minimalist lifestyle.
Minimize the things you don’t really need
80% of the things in the travelers’ suitcases are the ones that they use only once in a while. Even if there are things that you use only once in a week, it is useless for you as a traveler. Basically, you need to learn to survive without those items that see the light of the day only rarely. If you pack items for the ‘just in case’ scenario, you need to rethink and drop those items.
The necessary things
Toiletries are the only things that you need on a daily basis. Shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizers are the few items that you do need regularly, but you can get them anywhere in the world, almost! Try not to be picky about your brands and specifications, and try to adjust to any brands according to your skin. Pantene and Dove, for instance, are the shampoo brands that are available almost in every country. If you need something that you need particularly from your home country, you can carry it in large quantity. Rest everything can be refilled on the go.
Invest in crucial things
A few investments are meant for travelers, one of which is a packing organizer. You can buy in a clean and dirty split cube, also known as packing cube. You can separate your clean clothes from the dirty ones in this organizer. The mesh compartment is meant for the dirty and sweaty clothes and it keeps the moisture out of the clothes. You can wash the soiled clothes whenever you get time. The best part is that you get clarity and peace of mind when you know that you don’t have to touch the dirty clothes and reach directly for the clean ones without getting confused.
You must buy a sturdy backpack as well because it goes a long way with you compared to the weak bag that can ditch you anywhere on the go. You would not want to get stranded in the middle of the road, if you are in a desert in Rajasthan, want to book rajasthan tour taxi
for example.
Meeting new travelers
When backpackers meet other travelers like them, they are happy to help each other. You can share a
hire taxi in jaipur, for instance, or swap your clothes if you are tired of the garments in your bag. Every backpacker is equally bored of their limited clothing options, so they are happy to exchange their clothing while traveling together. You can always buy new clothes wherever you go, unless the place is very expensive, and save on the check-in baggage fees.
You need to assess the special needs of a place, if any. Otherwise, you can comfortably travel with minimum items in your backpack and still survive!

you can book car rental in udaipur too
